Title: Service & Equipment Technician

Shift/Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Cohoes, NY or Syracuse, NY
Job Overview: Van Alstine, a division of NextGen Label Group, is one of the Northeast’s leading suppliers of industrial consumables, equipment and services for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service & Equipment Technician to join our team. This role involves traveling to customer locations to deliver exceptional service, maintenance, and installations.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Customer Service and Maintenance: Provide onsite service, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for customer equipment and machinery.
- Installation: Conduct installations of new equipment at customer sites, ensuring operational readiness and adherence to safety standards.
- Travel: Cover a territory that includes New York and parts of New England (Vermont, Massachusetts), traveling to customer locations as required.
- Technical Support: Collaborate with customers to diagnose and resolve issues, minimizing downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including repairs, upgrades, inventory and customer interactions.
Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience in end-of-line packaging equipment is strongly recommended.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
- Other Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug testing.
Rate of Pay: $25 – $27 Hourly (Dependent on experience); eligible for overtime and company-wide incentive bonus program.
