Van Alstine & Sons was founded in 1950, as a paper and packaging distribution firm by William Van Alstine at the age of 72 years old. William’s two sons – Bill and Bob – who had just returned from World War II – joined the business as well. This team got the business off the ground, and oversaw the growth through the early years.
While the original founders are no longer with us, their vision lives on. The company continues to provide packaging and equipment solutions to a variety of customers – small and large – in a variety of industries. Our goal is to provide a true “one-stop” shop for all our customer’s needs.

Having been designated a “Premier Service Industrial Products Distributor”, Van Alstine’s partnership with 3M allows them to receive notice of 3M’s newest products, often before the rest of the market. And with the best pricing on thousands of products, we can offer our customers the best possible solution for their application.
In 2022, Van Alstine & Sons, along with the Macaran Label division merged with Syracuse Label company. The combined company now offers a turnkey packaging solution – from label printing, label application, box sealing, palletizing and more. The new, 100% employee-owned company has 3 locations, 200 employees and 165,000 square feet of operating space.
